It has a number of new features, such as the ability to utilize Face ID while wearing a mask.
It also includes Universal Control, which was previously announced at Apple's Worldwide Developers Conference almost a year ago but has yet to arrive in software. It now appears to be ready.
The functionality allows Macs and iPads to be controlled simultaneously using the same mouse and keyboard, providing a seamless transition between the two.
Siri has a new voice as well. Apple has stated that it is intended to be "genderless" – in line with other recent inclusive upgrades – and that it is based on a voice recorded by an unknown member of the LGBTQ community.
Other changes include the addition of new emoji, enhancements to the ShareTime tool, which allows people to watch TV shows and films together, and improved support for Covid vaccination cards.
The new update includes a number of minor improvements as well as bug fixes.
It's available for iPhones and iPads through the Settings app, like with all Apple upgrades. The option to begin the downloading and installation process should appear after clicking "general" and then "software update."
Devices should also automatically download the update and prompt the user for permission to install it.
